We would like to encourage all partners of the Mississippi Delta Grassroots Caucus to attend the Delta Citizens Alliance Second Annual Gathering in Greenville, Mississippi, Thursday, April 23, 2009 and Friday, April 24, 2009. The Delta Citizens Alliance is an excellent organization, and we know you will greatly benefit by going to this conference, which has the theme of “Citizen Power: Mobilizing Community Assets in an Era of Change.”

There are many distinguished speakers at this conference who have extensive expertise and experience on a broad range of subjects regarding the community and economic development of the Mississippi Delta region. A notice with the basic facts of the program is included below in this message.

You will recall that Larry Williams, CEO of the Delta Citizens Alliance, gave an excellent presentation at the Delta Grassroots Caucus conference at the Clinton Presidential Library in February this year. That morning we had many distinguished speakers, including former President Clinton and Governor Mike Beebe of Arkansas. Larry Williams spoke on that morning’s panel and I thought it was one of the best sessions we have ever had. We know that the Delta Citizens Alliance conference in Greenville will be an event you will not want to miss.
